Donate in memory of Olivia "Libby" Martin

Olivia "Libby" Martin lived in West Columbia, South Carolina, and passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the age of 88.  Mrs. Martin was a breast cancer survivor who loved working in her yard, crocheting and traveling.  She worked for the City of Greenville before moving to Columbia with her husband.  She worked for 15 years at the dental office of her son, Anthony D. Martin, DMD, who survived her along with her daughter-in-law, Megan, and her brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Sadie Fagan.  In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in her honor to In The Middle.  Every dollar donated goes directly to helping breast cancer survivors, so please click the donate button below.  The family will be notified of your donation.

Help Tami Fulfill Her Dream of Seeing the Amalfi Coast

In October of 2011, Tami started having pain in her breast through her armpit. With no history of breast cancer in her family, she wasn't really worried about it. On January 12, 2012, after a mammogram and biopsy, she was diagnosed with Stage 2A ER+/PR+ invasive ductal carcinoma aka breast cancer. In total, she had 11 surgeries, 35 sessions of radiation, and hormone treatment before she was declared to be in remission. For the next few years, she had to discover a new normal with a body that was no longer the same, a body scarred by radiation, with less strength and mobility. Then, almost 12 years later when she was sure she had put breast cancer in her rearview mirror, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer to the manubrium and mammory nodes. Because of the type of cancer she now has, she has to travel to MD Anderson in Texas for treatment, which consists of radiation, targeted therapy, and monthly injections. She has monthly oncology appointments to monitor the spread of the disease, and she will be fighting this battle until treatment stops working.

With this in mind, we at In The Middle have chosen Tami to be a Dream 4 Metas recipient. Tami will be battling cancer for the rest of her life, which leaves little time or money to do anything else. Her dream is to take a trip to the Amalfi Coast with her daughter, so this summer, In The Middle is paying for them to take that trip, and YOU can help. Click HERE to donate now!!! We sooooo appreciate your help for our Dreams 4 Metavivor Tami Rhodes!!!
